Questions about Chiropractic

What are the most common reasons people visit NJ Nerve Chiropractic?
We treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including:
  • Back and neck pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Sciatica and nerve pain
  • Herniated or bulging discs
  • Sports and auto injuries
  • Joint pain (shoulders, knees, hips, etc.)
  • Neuropathy
  • Poor posture and spinal imbalances

What are the other benefits of chiropractic care for wellness?
Most people associate Chiropractic with helping low back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, and other pains. But did you know that Chiropractic adjustments help optimize nervous system function, improve posture, and enhance mobility? Many of our patients report benefits such as:
  • Increased energy and vitality
  • Better sleep
  • Enhanced focus and mental clarity
  • Stronger immune function
  • Improved athletic performance
  • Greater adaptability to stress

How do I know if I have spinal misalignments?
Don't be fooled into thinking that you only need Chiropractic when you're in pain. Common signs of misalignment include poor posture, limited range of motion, fatigue, and tension in the body. Even if you are not experiencing symptoms, regular chiropractic check-ups can help detect and correct spinal misalignments before they affect your well-being.

Who can benefit from chiropractic care?
Those who are suffering from both old or new injuries can come in for relief, correction, and even maintenance. Chiropractic is also fantastic for general wellness. Our care is beneficial for people of all ages, including:
  • Children and infants (for healthy development)
  • Adults (for posture and wellness)
  • Athletes (for optimal function and recovery)

What techniques do you use?
We use specific chiropractic adjustments tailored to each individual. Some more traditional and some more gentle. Our techniques may include:
  • Traditional Manual Adjustments (Done By Hand)
  • Instrument-assisted adjustments
  • Table-Assisted Drop Adjusting
  • Other Techniques If Necessary

How often should I get adjusted?
Each person’s needs are unique. Those with more intense pain or injuries of the nerve or disc often come two to three times a week initially, however some patients start out with weekly adjustments. Others may come in biweekly or monthly for maintenance. We will assess your spinal health and recommend a schedule that best supports your wellness goals.

What should I expect on my first visit?

Before You Arrive
To save time, new patients can complete their intake forms online in advance—or, if you prefer, you’re welcome to fill them out in our office before your appointment.

When You Arrive
When you walk in, you'll check in using our front desk kiosk. After that, our staff will:
  • Scan your insurance card(s) and driver’s license
  • Securely place a debit or credit card on file for billing
If you're using insurance, you won't be charged at the time of your visit. Once your insurance processes your claim, we receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB), which details your patient responsibility. This may include:
  • A copay
  • Co-insurance
  • Or the full visit cost if your deductible hasn’t been met
If you're paying out of pocket, payment will be collected at the time of service, and you'll receive a time-of-service discount.

Your Consultation and Exam
Once you're checked in, the doctor will meet with you to review your health history and conduct a full examination. During this exam, we may:
  • Assess your spinal alignment and mobility
  • Identify issues with nerves, discs, muscles, tendons, or ligaments
  • Evaluate your strength, flexibility, and range of motion
  • Determine if X-rays are needed to proceed safely

Your First Treatment
In most cases, you’ll receive your first chiropractic adjustment and therapeutic rehab on the same day. After your treatment, we’ll discuss:
  • How your adjustment went
  • Any important findings
  • Our recommendations for follow-up care

After Your Visit
You’re all set! You can schedule your next appointment before you leave, or use our online scheduling system or mobile app to book, reschedule, or cancel future visits at your convenience.
