What To Expect for Your First Chiropractic Visit
We’re excited to welcome you to our office! Your first chiropractic visit is all about getting to know you, understanding your health history, and evaluating how we can help you feel and move better.
⏱️ Give Yourself About an Hour
Your initial visit will take a little longer than follow-ups—typically around 45 to 60 minutes. Follow-up visits are usually much shorter, often just 10–15 minutes.
🧠 Consultation & Spinal Exam
We’ll start with a thorough consultation and spinal assessment to better understand how your spine is functioning and where any issues might be coming from. If necessary, we may also recommend X-rays for a more detailed look (especially if you’re dealing with chronic or complex issues).
⚙️ Your First Adjustment
In most cases, you’ll receive your first chiropractic adjustment during this visit. These initial adjustments may be lighter or more gentle as your body gets used to the process. Some patients feel immediate relief, while others might feel sore or notice no change at first. That’s totally normal—true, lasting results typically come with a series of consistent adjustments.
👕 What to Wear
We recommend wearing comfortable, relaxed clothing that allows you to move easily. If there’s a chance we’ll take X-rays, please avoid wearing necklaces or earrings, especially if we may need to X-ray your neck.
📄 Insurance & Payment Info
Please check your insurance benefits before your visit. It's important to know your chiropractic coverage, including any co-pay, deductible, or referral requirements. You can call your insurance provider or log into your online member portal to check this information.
💳 Payment Process
Bring a debit or credit card to keep securely on file. Instead of collecting payment at each visit, we’ll charge your card after we receive the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance company—usually within a few weeks. If anything looks unusual or higher than expected, we’ll contact you before processing the payment.
